Route

Three Lamps

In the late 1800s, Three Lamps was the starting-point for horse-drawn buses from Ponsonby to the city. People would sit on the lights' stone base and politicians would also use it as a platform for fiery speeches.

Brotzeit German Bakery & Café

Brotzeit’s German Stone Oven bakes bread to perfection throughout the day.

Salta Espresso Café

Salta Espresso serves the perfect brunch and Allpress coffee.

Milly’s Kitchen Shop

Milly’s of Ponsonby first opened its doors in 1983 and since that time they have become known for its wide range of quality cookware and kitchen tools.

Cake & Co

At Cake & Co, they offer gorgeous cakes and sweet treats that still allow them to focus on their ever increasing dietary requirements, without forgetting that indulgence is key.

Duck Island Ice Cream

An extensive range of 24 flavours, including dairy free options, available every day of the week. They also offer their ever popular ice cream sandwiches and pints to take home and enjoy.

Bhana Bros

Traditional produce and grocery store where service is still number one.

Ponsonby Central

Outdoor strip lined with chic, global cafes & bars, gourmet food vendors & eclectic boutiques.

Practicalities

  • Make sure you bring a bag, as you will be taking many yummy goodies back with you

Uptaste

What is Uptaste? We’re something like a travel agency business (although we don’t sell flights or hotels). Instead, we specialise in finding the right place to eat, wherever and whenever you are, using location intelligence combined with expert and community curation. Uptaste destinations will rarely be restaurants; they’ll be shops, they’ll be street traders, they’ll be local markets, or some other easy-to-miss but hard-to-forget place.
