Experience

We’ll begin at a teahouse that was a gift from Tajikistan where you can select a cup of tea. Next it’s time for mountain cuisine from the Himalayans. The Nepalese momo dumplings here are a must-try. The third stop offers local flavors of Colorado in a European-style cafe, where you can customize a cheese and charcuterie board. The elevated Americans classics at Oak are all delicious. If you have the appetite, the cheese burger here will ruin you.. Save room for dessert – the rich and creamy gelato at Gelato Boy is not to be missed

Route

Boulder Dushanbe Teahouse

The extensive tea selection at this Persian teahouse includes black, green, oolong and pu’erh tea, plus more than 20 organic herbal options. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are available along with afternoon tea.

Sherpa’s Restaurant

Authentic Tibetan and Nepalese dishes give you a taste of the Himalayas from Colorado. Hearty but health-conscious fare like Tibetan thupka, sizzling tandoori kabobs and spicy vindaloo will fuel your outdoor adventures.

Cured

Choose from a curated selection of cheese, charcuterie, wine and Colorado beers at this European-style specialty grocer. The grab-and-go sandwiches and picnic baskets are great for hiking.

Oak at Fourteenth

This contemporary American restaurant is only open for dinner, serving elevated versions of American classics with the best local ingredients. Cocktails here are excellent along with low- and no-alcohol beverages.

Gelato Boy

This artisan gelateria uses organic milk and cream to make rich, flavorful gelato as good as you’ll find in Italy. Flavors include Italian classics like Sicilian pistachio and American favorites like cookies and cream.

Practicalities

  • Oak doesn’t open until 5 pm, so starting around 3 pm would be best

Uptaste

What is Uptaste? We’re something like a travel agency business (although we don’t sell flights or hotels). Instead, we specialise in finding the right place to eat, wherever and whenever you are, using location intelligence combined with expert and community curation. Uptaste destinations will rarely be restaurants; they’ll be shops, they’ll be street traders, they’ll be local markets, or some other easy-to-miss but hard-to-forget place.
