Your Wallingford walk starts by crossing the River Thames, before walking to the heart of the town and discovering Wallingford’s classic, old buildings. A walk through Kinecroft Park will take you the Wallingford Museum, a treasure trove of local history. Your stroll will then continue to the fascinating Wallingford Cemetery, then on to the neighbouring Wallingford Castle, a once impressive fortress that dominated the crossing over the Thames. Your exploration of Wallingford ends with a deserved meal at the Boat House, where you can watch and appreciate the River Thames as it flows by.

St Mary-le-More, Church

St Mary-le-More Church was established in the 11th century, but rebuilt in the Gothic Revival style in the 19th century.

Kinecroft Park

Kinecroft Park is a wide open green space near the centre of Wallingford with an interesting history that stretches back to Medieval times.

Wallingford Museum

Wallingford Museum is a local history museum, housed on two floors of this medieval oak-beamed building.

Wallingford Cemetery

A beautiful and atmospheric old cemetery, complete with fascinating gravestones, two eye-catching chapels of rest and surrounded in pleasant greenery.

Wallingford Castle

Wallingford was one of England’s most powerful royal castles, before being destroyed during the Civil War. Today, only small pieces of the walls survive, but the landscape shows the scale of this once mighty castle.

Boat House

The Boat House is a large, mock-Tudor restaurant and bar that serves classic pub grub and expertly-kept beers.
