Experience

This tour takes you to a traditional London pub which dates back to 1423, the Guinea Grill. They’ve been grilling steaks since the 50s, so you’ll be treated to some of the best beef available in the UK. After, take a stroll along the South Bank of the Thames and see how many famous buildings you can spot. Wander through Borough Market, the city’s most renowned food and drink market. There’s a lot on offer here from traditional English cheeses to fresh pasta, international street food to artisan chocolates. When you’ve finished at the market, visit the many craft breweries in Bermondsey to sample a couple of locally brewed craft beers.

Route

The Guinea Grill

This Mayfair pub has been serving drinks for 600 years - and since 1952 they’ve also been serving some of the best steaks in London.

Borough Market

The most renowned food market in Britain, Borough Market may be over a thousand years old but it’s livelier today than ever before.

The Barrel Project

Serving house barrel aged and craft beers across 24 taps, The Barrel Project oozes style and cosiness.

Moor Beer

The Moor Beer Company is originally from Bristol and opened up their vaults on the Bermondsey Beer Mile in 2018. They serve live beer which means it’s made with live yeast and natural carbonation. It’s also vegan.

Practicalities

  • This is quite a long walk but makes a great bike ride

Uptaste

What is Uptaste? We’re something like a travel agency business (although we don’t sell flights or hotels). Instead, we specialise in finding the right place to eat, wherever and whenever you are, using location intelligence combined with expert and community curation. Uptaste destinations will rarely be restaurants; they’ll be shops, they’ll be street traders, they’ll be local markets, or some other easy-to-miss but hard-to-forget place.
